Finnish Atmospheric Science Network

INAR has coordinated the formation of a strong partnership between University of Helsinki, Finnish Meteorological Institute, University of Eastern Finland and Tampere University. The partners form together Finnish Atmospheric Sciences Network.

INAR at the University of Helsinki, the Finnish Meteorological Institute and University of Eastern Finland, hosted a joint Centre of Excellence (CoE) status in Atmospheric Sciences 2002-2019 combining atmospheric physics, meteorology, forest science, and air chemistry. Now the INAR Finland National Network partners have joint Atmosphere and Climate Competence Center (ACCC) Flagship. We also have a joint research infrastructure ecosystem INAR RI, recognised at the Finnish RI Roadmap. We have led Nordic CoE CRAICC and been partners in three other Nordic CoEs. We have had several Academy of Finland research infrastructure projects, and we have the national coordination of four European Research Infrastructures. We have also brought the head offices of ICOS and ACTRIS to Finland together with the national partners.
