Incubator

Helsinki Education Hub (HEH) Incubation Program supports early-stage EdTech startups and university-based teams, including researchers and students, in product development and testing. It provides advising and support in funding both in Finland and internationally. HEH offers a 3-month Incubation Program twice a year.
Incubation program

The Incubation program helps startups use the latest Learning Sciences research to create digital learning solutions. This unique EdTech innovation program is fueled by close collaboration with leading experts from the Faculty of Education at the University of Helsinki.

In addition to the incubation program, Helsinki Education Hub offers dedicated co-working spaces for EdTech entrepreneurs, hosts dynamic community events, and facilitates connections with top researchers. Join us in shaping the future of education through innovation.

Product Development Program

Our incubator utilizes a hands-on product development program designed to fast-track edtech startups from concept to market. Rooted in the principles of Lean Startup, this immersive program guides founders through customer discovery, agile development, and rapid iteration to test and refine their business model. At its core, the edtech incubator is a blend of product development, business growth, and Learning Sciences.

Entrepreneurs work closely with mentors, industry experts, and peers to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)—the most basic version of a product that includes only the essential features needed to meet market needs and validate the product's core value proposition. Whether launching their first product or scaling their next big idea, the program equips them with the tools, insights, and support needed to transform their vision into a successful, scalable venture.

During the program, products are co-developed with experts from the Faculty of Education at the University of Helsinki, as well as through collaboration with schools in the City of Helsinki, such as the Helsinki EdTech Testbed and other networks. The program not only supports product development and market entry for edtech companies in Finland but also prepares them for international expansion. Participants will have the opportunity to present and pitch their solutions to both domestic and global investors.
