ChemistryLab Gadolin, which operates at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Helsinki, is a versatile, active learning, development and research environment that offers fascinating experiences for schools and educational institutions. The goal is to support teaching and learning in chemistry, make chemistry more attractive, increase awareness of the extensive field of chemistry, provide information about studies and careers in chemistry, and offer experiences of learning chemistry.
VERIFIN is an institute in the Department of Chemistry under the University of Helsinki’s Faculty of Science. It was established in 1994 to continue the work of the Chemical Weapons (CW) research project, initiated in 1973. VERIFIN helps monitor compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention by developing research methods for chemical warfare agents and by providing training in the field.
VERIFIN is mainly funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
