The training, completed while working, is targeted at speech therapists who have a need for specialist expertise in logopedics and at least two years of work experience as licensed speech therapists following graduation to the profession. After completing the Specialisation Programme in Logopedics, speech therapists will be able to work in demanding specialist positions in their work communities and broader networks. In addition, the training provides capacity for developing, analysing, assessing and following professional practices in the specialist field on the basis of research.
The application period for the programme is 14–30 January 2025.
The programme starts in autumn 2025.
The training will be organised in Finnish.
The Specialisation Programme in Logopedics is for you if you have a Master of Arts degree with logopedics as the major subject or a corresponding degree, and if you are a speech therapist licensed by the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health Valvira with at least two years of postgraduate experience in the profession.
After completing the Specialisation Programme in Logopedics, you will have the research-based specialist expertise required in the field and the specialist role, as well as understand the links between your field and the broader context. After completing the training, you will be familiar with the key concepts of the field and be able to assess and utilise scientific research in your work.
The Specialisation Programme in Logopedics implements the general objectives of professional specialisation education set out in Government Decree 1439/2014. Those who have completed the training can use the title of specialist speech therapist.
