Through the Student's Eyes

The photographic exhibition by Ylioppilaskamerat ry explores everyday life, celebrations, struggles, determination, and the marks they leave on university students.

Students represent the future of our society. They lay the foundation for new knowledge, skills, and innovations. The student years are, at best, a time of growth, friendships, influence, and joy. However, student life also has its flip side; it often involves navigating financial and mental health challenges and juggling studies, leisure, and work. Everyone's daily life is shaped individually by their background, studies, and life situation.

The photographic exhibition Through the Student's Eyes by Ylioppilaskamerat ry explores everyday life, celebrations, struggles, determination, and the marks they leave on university students. The exhibition offers a glimpse into the breadth of student life and the range of emotions experienced during university years. Recurring themes in the artworks include loneliness, tranquility, and stereotypes.

Ylioppilaskamerat ry is an interdisciplinary organization for students interested in photographic art, operating under the Student Union of the University of Helsinki.

The exhibition is free of charge and can be visited 9.1.–30.4.2025 during the opening hours of Think Corner.
