Who is welcome at Think Corner?

Think Corner’s doors and events are open to everyone. Come along and bring a friend!

Is Think Corner accessible?

Yes. An accessible entrance is located at the corner of Fabianinkatu and Yliopistonkatu. Think Corner’s facilities are barrier free, with lift access to all floors. Accessible toilets are located on floors K1 and 2, alongside other toilet facilities. The Stage venue is equipped with an induction loop.

Does Think Corner offer web access?

Think Corner visitors can access the HelsinkiUni Guest network using the password displayed around the facilities. Also available at Think Corner is Eduroam.

Which facilities can be booked?

Think Corner facilities and work spaces are open to everyone, primarily on a first come, first served basis. No bookings are accepted for individual tables or the alcoves on the street level. The Stage, Fönster and Think Lounge venues can be booked for events open to all and adhering to the Think Corner mission. To book event venues, use the forms on our website. Why does Think Corner not have any quiet spaces?

Think Corner is a place for working together, sharing ideas, unwinding with others and enjoying the city’s most interesting events. Think Corner and Helsinki University Main Library in the adjacent Kaisa House together offer all the facilities you need for work. The Kaisa library offers quiet work spaces, while Think Corner is ideal for those who do not mind a bit of background noise.

Can I bring my own food to eat at Think Corner?

Tiedekulma Café offers breakfast, lunch, coffee drinks, smoothies and a wide variety of other delicacies. Unlike typical cafés, Think Corner does not require you to buy anything to stay. Think Corner’s open floors are licensed premises for serving alcohol, and in that area the consumption of a customer’s own beverages and food is prohibited.

Can I bring animals to Think Corner?

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome at Think Corner. However, as much as we love them, pets and other animals are not permitted at Think Corner, as we wish to accommodate individuals with allergies.

Can I move the furniture?

Think Corner adapts to various activities. Feel free to move chairs, benches, high and low tables and desks, as well as sofas. Most furniture is equipped with wheels, making it easy and safe to move. Kindly move the large black tables only with help from our hosts, as the wiring is prone to damage. Remember to return any furniture you moved to its original location when you leave. If you need help moving furniture, ask the Think Corner hosts.

Can I bring my own brochures or advertisements to Think Corner?

Event posters may be attached to the right-hand wall in the Yliopistonkatu and Fabianinkatu lobbies. Please note that Think Corner reserves the right to edit the wall content. Only the University of Helsinki’s brochures and flyers may be distributed or placed at Think Corner.

Where can I enquire about lost property?

If you have lost or left something behind at Think Corner, contact the Think Corner hosts at the customer service desk or by phone. You can also contact us by email at thinkcorner@helsinki.fi. Any found items are kept for three months and then donated if not collected. Valuables are kept for one month before being given to the police.

Why does Think Corner have gender-neutral toilets?

Think Corner aims to promote equality and diversity. As a spacious venue capable of hosting events for hundreds of people. Think Corner offers equal access to all toilet facilities, avoiding the long queues to women’s toilets often seen at large events. If you prefer not to use gender-neutral toilets, accessible toilets are available next to all facilities and can be used by anyone when not occupied.

The toilets are located on floors K1 and 2. Check the precise locations from the floor plan.

Is sleeping allowed at Think Corner?

You will find plenty of comfy sofas at Think Corner, but please note they are not intended for naps even if work or study makes you sleepy.

Where’s UniSport?

UniSport Kluuvi is located on the bottom floors of Think Corner: K2, K3 and K4. Access is available through a separate entrance on Fabianinkatu. Further information on UniSport
