Publication fee support
An article processing charge (APC), or publication fee, covers open-access publication in a specific journal. The fee is usually paid by the author, the author’s institution or the research funder.
Scholars can
- use the open access publishing agreements included in Helsinki University Library’s journal subscriptions.
- Alternatively, they can apply to Helsinki University Library for funding to cover the article processing charges of open access journals.
How to apply for funding from the library for publication fees
- Check if the journal is included on (Elsevier, Oxford University Press, Sage, SpringerNature, Taylor & Francis, Wiley). If so, follow the publishers instructions.
- If the journal is not included on Library's agreements .
- If the journal meets the requirements fill in the (log in with UH user account). Library checks the request during next working day and informs about the payment of the APC.
