The training focuses on anonymizing research data in a pragmatic manner. It deals with the anonymization of both quantitative and qualitative textual material.
This training session is for UH researchers, staff, and anyone interested in the topic of data anonymization.
Finnish Social Data Archive experts tell us about anonymization using practical examples.
Participation does not require prior preparation, but please read beforehand from the Data Management Guidelines section about anonymization and personal data.
The training includes teamwork on both qualitative and quantitative material. All participants participate in both group work. You don’t need to know the right answers, so don’t worry, but it is good to discuss and think together. The following data examples are discussed in the groups:
We recommend that you look at the examples beforehand.

Series contains four webinars where we go through key themes required in effective and ethically sound research data management. The webinar series elaborates themes and details introduced in RDM Basics lectures
The webinar sessions consist of 30 minutes introduction to the theme given by the experts of the Data Support network and 60 minutes Q'n'A session, where participants can ask questions. Both the introductory presentations and frequently asked questions will be published in Data Support network for later use. Also, further reading and studying material will be provided.
Webinar sessions are open for anyone. The emphasis will be on questions related to the Research Council of Finland's Winter call, whose applicants are required to outline a feasible DMP (Data Management Plan) in order to start their projects in University of Helsinki following the positive funding decision.
All the webinar material will be available here
