Research Council of Finland

Apply for funding

At the application stage, all applicants should briefly describe their data management in a separate short data management plan and describe their publication plans.

During the Winter 2025 call, the Data Support and the OA team organized webinars. The presentations of the webinars can be found below:

 Positive financing decision

The researcher will make the actual data management plan after a positive funding decision. The plan must be submitted to the Research Council’s SARA system within eight weeks of the funding decision. According to the University of Helsinki's practice, Data Support will check the data management plans before they are submitted to the Research Council. During the preparation of the DMP, Data Support also organizes DMP workshops and provides personal counselling sessions for the preparation of DMPs.

Data Support will be in direct contact with researchers who have received a positive funding decision and will provide detailed guidance as soon as the decision has been taken by the Research Council of Finland.

EU funding

Data Support checks the data management plans submitted to funders and provides advice to those preparing data management plans.  Data Support receives information on EU fundings from the UH Research Services and will be in direct contact with funded researchers and provide detailed guidance. Data Support also attends project kick-off events on request and provides information on data management planning [linkki kalvoihin]. If requested, Data Support will also provide personalised advice on data management planning.
