Download Science Trails App

Here you can find the technical instructions on downloading and using the Kilpisjärvi Science Trails app.

The Kilpisjärvi Science Trails app uses the GPS of your mobile device. When you walk on the Science Trails the app will give you notifications when you have reached a stop, and you will get to discover the amazing science of it. To download the free Kilpisjävi Science Trails app follow the instructions below.
Download the Kilpisjärvi Science Trails app

Android users: 

  1. Go to Play Store and search for “Kilpisjärvi Science Trails”. 
  2. Install the Kilpisjärvi Science Trails app. 
  3. Select language: English, Finnish, Swedish. 
  4. Allow the app to send you notifications. 
  5. Choose one of the four hiking trails and download the tour.
  6. You are ready to use the Kilpisjärvi Science Trails. Note: no internet connection needed.
  7. When starting the tour the app asks for permission to use the device’s location. 
  8. Before putting your device in your pocket and heading out on the trail, check that you have the sound loud on your device. 
  9. You are ready to go! 

Apple users: 

  1. Go to App Store and search for “STQRY Guide”.
  2. Install STQRY Guide. 
  3. Select language. 
  4. Allow the app to send you notifications. 
  5. Allow location access. 
  6. On “Locations” page of STQRY Guide find “Kilpisjärvi Science Trails”. You can also tap on the map icon on the image on top of the page and find Kilpisjärvi Science Trails on the map.
  7. Open Kilpisjärvi Science Trails within STQRY Guide.
  8. Choose one of the four hiking trails and download the tour.
  9. You are ready to use the Kilpisjärvi Science Trails. Note: no internet connection needed.
  10. Before putting your device in your pocket and heading out on the trail, check that you have the sound loud on your device. 
  11. You are ready to go!
