Accessibility statement of Helka

This accessibility statement applies to the Helka user interface and is dated 20.9.2024.

The accessibility of this digital service has been evaluated by the technical service provider Ex Libris. The service meets the critical A & AA requirements; further details on accessibility issues can be found from Ex Libris's documentation.

In addition, we have evaluated the accessibility of some of the service’s main views and functions at the library. As a result, we have detected the following deviations:

  • The service has functions (chat and contact for example) that are not fully accessible by keyboard navigation. The search results and My Account also have occasional choices that cannot be made using the keyboard only. (WCAG 2.1.2)
  • There are some views where texts may overlap if the text size is increased by more than 200%. (WCAG 1.4.4) 

We are constantly working to make our services more accessible.

We will respond to your feedback within 14 days. If you are not satisfied with the response you receive, or, do not receive a response at all within two weeks, you can send feedback to the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southern Finland.
