CITY CENTRE CAMPUS

Study spaces suitable for both independent work and group work on the City Centre Campus.

The National Library

The National Library offers plenty of quiet working space in four reading rooms. 

Soc&kom Learning Centre

The Soc&kom Learning Centre offers a quiet working space as well as six computer workstations.

Think Corner

The Think Corner has spaces for group work and relaxed socializing. 

UniCafes

Metsätalo and Topelia Unicafés are available for self-study outside restaurant opening hours. 

OTHER CAMPUSES

The campus libraries in Kumpula, Meilahti and Viikki offer both self-study and group work spaces. In addition, the Kumpula and Viikki campuses have separate night use facilities for HU students.

Kumpula Campus Library

Peaceful self-study spaces, plus ten reservable group work rooms and a group work area.

Meilahti Campus Library

Meilahti Campus Library in the Terkko Health Hub's facilities. The library has two group study rooms that can be reserved, a computer room as well as self-study spaces.

Viikki Campus Library

Sixteen reservable group work rooms as well as reading and working areas on three floors in the Viikki Info Centre. 

Night access facilities

Both Kumpula and Viikki have night access facilities, which operate with the same magnetic key as the Aleksandria night access.

OTHER LIBRARIES AND WORKING SPACES

There are several libraries and other facilities for self-study and group work in and around the city centre. In addition to those listed below, other academic and university libraries are open to all.

Aalto University Learning Centre

Study and work space open to all at the Harald Herlin Learning Centre in Otaniemi. 

Free City of Kalasatama – Living Room

A relaxed workspace in the The Free City of Kalasatama – Living Room in the Redi shopping centre.

Helmet libraries

The closest libraries to the City Centre Campus are Oodi and the Rikhardinkatu and Kallio libraries. Check also the facilities of your local library.

​Library of Parliament

Located in Töölö (Aurorankatu 6), the ​Library of Parliament has, among other things, a quiet reading room with 70 seats.

Nordic Culture Point library

The Nordic Culture Point library in Kaisaniemi (Kaisaniemenkatu 9) has both work space and fiction, non-fiction and newspapers.

SKS Library

SKS, The Library of Finnish Literature Society, in Kruununhaka (Hallituskatu 1) offers quiet reading areas and computers for customer use.

Uniarts Libraries

The Uniarts campus libraries in Sörnäinen (Haapaniemenkatu 6) and Töölö (Töölönlahdenkatu 16) offer, among other things, reading spaces and the opportunity for quiet work.

Varaamo

Varaamo, The space reservation service of the City of Helsinki, can be used to reserve both individual and group work spaces.
