Helsinki University Library provides information environment services of high international quality for the requirements of research, teaching and studying at the University.
The library promotes the availability and dissemination of scientific knowledge in society, actively developing its field and cooperating on both the national and international levels.

The Board of Helsinki University Library is appointed by the rector of the University of Helsinki. The task of the Board is, in cooperation with the University Librarian, to develop the library and information services of Helsinki University Library and the operation of the library as a whole according to the University's strategic plan and the target programme of the library.
The Board functions as an expert panel for the library and information field in the University of Helsinki.
The Library has an advisory board on each campus. It serves as a forum for discussion and cooperation for customers and the Library and participates in the design, preparation and development of library services. The members of the advisory board represent the staff and students of the faculties and independent institutes on each campus, the Library’s staff and the University’s partners.
Helsinki University Library Annual Report is published online during the first quarter of the year.
