HELSUS members

HELSUS Members are researchers at the University of Helsinki whose research profile fits into HELSUS research aims.

The research of HELSUS Members deals with complex sustainability problems and/or sustainability transformation and may be connected to one of the research areas of HELSUS (Urban, Arctic, Global South, Consumption and Production, Theory and Methodology). HELSUS members have plans for future research directions towards sustainability science, as well as shown evidence of past and ongoing research.

CRITERIA FOR HELSUS MEMBERS

  • A researcher (incl. doctoral) affiliated to the University of Helsinki
  • Research focuses on sustainability problems and/or sustainability transformation
  • Plans for future research directions towards sustainability science
  • Evidence of past and ongoing research (e.g. published peer-review articles)

HELSUS Mem­ber

  • gain a double affiliation (e.g. Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science, Faculty of Science)
  • be part of a problem-oriented interdisciplinary research community with vibrant new activities 
  • stay updated on sustainability-related events, training, funding calls and publications
  • establish new contacts with researchers and stakeholders both nationally and internationally
  • get assistance from HELSUS coordination for framing funding applications and get connected to relevant partners, or by writing letters of support
  • get support for strengthening sustainability expertise in university teaching
  • get assistance for communicating your research, events and other initiatives
  • have access and can use the fantastic and dynamic HELSUS HUB at the university main building, 2nd floor

As a researcher, you must meet the following requirements:

For HELSUS Member applicants (group 1), we ask you to attach a list of publications (max 3 pages) to the form.

The membership applications are reviewed by the HELSUS Steering Group.
