As a vocational post-graduate degree the Faculty offers the Specialist's Degree in Veterinary Medicine. The fields of specialization for a licensed veterinarian are: small animal diseases, equine diseases, health care and treatment of production animals, infectious animal diseases, environmental health care and food production hygiene.
In addition to national specialist degrees, veterinarians can complete a European specialist diploma (Diplomate) The European Board of Veterinary Specialisation (EBVS)
In order to receive a license to practice the profession of veterinary surgeon, persons who have completed a degree in a third country, meaning a country outside the European Union or European Economic Area, must, as a rule, complete additional studies in Finland. As well, sufficient skills in Finnish or Swedish are required.
The Faculty participates in the implementation of extension studies by offering some of its courses to already practising veterinarians. More information in Finnish.
