The Higher Education Partnership HEP Programme supports cooperation between Finnish higher education institutions and partners in developing countries to strengthen higher education through subject-specific, pedagogical, and administrative development.
HEP continues the work of the HEI ICI Programme (the Higher Education Institutions Institutional Cooperation Instrument) and is funded by Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs through development cooperation funds. The programme is administered by the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI).
The Faculty of Educational Sciences is currently engaged in one ongoing HEP project, continuing our commitment to global academic collaboration: Higher Education Pedagogies for Teacher Education (HEP-TED) is an education project by six Finnish and Rwandan higher education institutions.
Our faculty has previously coordinated two successful HEI ICI projects: TOTEMK: Training Trainers for Teacher Education and Management in Kenya (2020-2024), and OLIVE: Teacher Education without Walls – New models for STEM and Teacher Education in the Digital age (2020-2024).
University of Helsinki is actively participating in international education projects, such as Erasmus+ funded projects. Throughout many years, UH has been successfully contributing to a variety of projects developing education, contributing to innovation and capacity building both as coordinator and a partner.
