This autumn, the topic of Studia Generalia is citizen science. Citizen science allows people outside of academia to be actively part of the research process rather than just allowing their information to be used in research. Examples of citizen science include recording sightings of different species in nature and participating in genealogy. Citizen science is an important avenue of perspectives that are sometimes otherwise lacking in research and societal decision-making.
Studia Generalia lectures have been organised since the 1950s. You can also enjoy recordings of past lectures! Please note that most of the recordings are in Finnish.
