Employment as a doctoral researcher

The next application period for university-funded doctoral researcher positions will be in autumn 2026.

Other ways of funding a doctoral project is a salary paid by the supervisor or a personal grant from a private foundation applied by the doctoral researcher him/herself. Doctoral researchers may also fund their studies themselves or pursue their degree in tandem with work.

De­cisions on salary po­s­i­tions starting in 2026

ILS received altogether 40 applications. All eligible application were evaluated by external evaluators. The ILS board decided to invite 16 top candidates for an interview. The board made the final decisions based on anonymized scores to ensure unbiased selection.
