Employment as a doctoral researcher

The next application period for university-funded doctoral researcher positions will be in autumn 2026.

Other ways of funding a PhD project is a salary paid by the supervisor or a personal grant from a private foundation applied by the doctoral candidate him/herself. Doctoral candidates may also fund their studies themselves or pursue their degree in tandem with work.

The next application period for salaried positions is 26.8.-9.9.2025. The application instructions will be published in (please choose DPDR from the drop-down menu).

De­cision on salaried po­s­i­tions starting in 2026

DPDR received altogether 37 applications. All eligible applications were evaluated by external evaluators. The DPDR board decided to invite 16 top applicants for an interview. The board selected 8 top applicants for a University-funded position based on the scores and interviews.
